Team Australia, Australia
With a number of returning players and some new faces the Australian team is again an 18U team who is keen to play hard and continue our tradition of being competitive while enjoying the opportunity to play in a beautiful location against friendly competition. Some of the players are previous World Cup Team Australia members, some are hopefuls for the 2014 team and some are players of the future. This 18U team is part of the development pathway to our Senior women's team which is designed to help Team Australia to continue and improve on its success at the highest level. |
Far East Bloomers, Japan
Far East Bloomers is a foreign contingent and the members belong to different teams playing both hard balls and rubber balls back in the country. We had been looking forward to playing in Hong Kong as a team during this off season period for the last 6 years. We are so glad that we can take part in the tournament again this year. We see the matches are getting more competitive throughout the past 5 tournaments and again. We are going to play full out and strive for the championship this year. |
Osaka University of Health and Sports Sciences, Japan
Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences (OUHS) will have its 50th anniversary next year. The OUHS women’s hardball baseball team was established in 2009 and will have its 5th anniversary this year. Even though the team is still very young, we are working on our activities very hard. We appreciate that we can participate in this historical international women’s baseball tournament. We are really looking forward to experiencing international exchanges with the other teams through baseball and expecting that the tournament will be a good event for our team to make a good start of the year for our 5th anniversary. We will do our best as much as we can to achieve a good result in the tournament. |
Guri-city NineVics Women’s Baseball Team, Korea
In 2005, NineVics was founded and in 2012 changed its name to "Guri-city NineVics". 'NineVics' means all 'Nine' players are trying to achieve 'Victories' in harmony. The vision of NineVics is to become an outstanding team, a skilled team and a loved team to contribute to the growth and development of women's baseball. With 35 players, Guri-city NineVics is the most famous and highly ranked women's baseball team in Korea. This is the 5th time to participate in Phoenix Cup. We are looking forward to seeing you soon. |
SG Panthers, Singapore
SG Panthers is the first and only Women's Baseball Team in Singapore. Most of our players started out playing softball in Secondary and high school. With a strong interest in Baseball, the players come together and is honored to be invited to participate in the 7th Hong Kong Phoenix Cup. This will also be our first overseas tournament and we hope to forge relationships with the participating countries and develop Women's Baseball in the region and as well as in Singapore. |
Taipei Vanguard Women’s Baseball Team, Taiwan
Taipei Vanguard Women's Baseball Team was formed on Aug 11,2001, it was formally started by a group of female baseball enthusiasts who all met on the Naruwan website. The average age of the players are around 28 years old and are from different sectors of the society. Such as education, finance, insurance, medical, tourism, retail, and students, etc. There are 31 players and 2 coaches enrolled in 2013. Every weekend, our team practices around 4-8 hours in Shezi, Taipei. Every year our team competes in the following tournaments: including National Woman's Baseball Cup tournament hosted by the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association and National Woman's Baseball tournament hosted by an amateur woman's baseball team alternately as well as additional unscheduled events. In the past twelve years, over 75 baseball enthusiasts, 7 coaches as well as many supporters contributed to our team's success in the world of women's baseball. The 2014 Phoenix Cup tournament will be the sixth time Taipei Vanguard Women's Baseball Team participate in, where we had experienced the excellent and unforgettable great memories. We hope Phoenix Cup will keep growing and become one of the major tournaments in international women's baseball world, and we also hope to create the beautiful memories with other baseball enthusiasts from all over the world one more time. |
Allies, Hong Kong
The Allies has been playing the Phoenix Cup every year since its inception. This year, apart from players played in the Women’s Baseball World Series and the IBAF Women’s Baseball Cup, young players emerge from the junior squad. We cherish every opportunity of playing baseball with elite players from other countries, and we are striving our very best in the coming Asia Insurance Phoenix Cup 2014. |
Development Team, Hong Kong
With the growth of Hong Kong Women's Baseball in mind, the Development Team was founded to provide an opportunity for local players to explore their potential and gain experiences by competing with other elite teams from overseas. The team consists of players from all walks of life, who may not have the privilege to undergo full-time baseball training but definitely share the same passion for baseball just as any professional players. |
